The FTC has extended the deadline to fully comply with the Red Flags Rule to June 1, 2010.
However… Per the FTC “This delay in enforcement is limited to the Identity Theft Red Flags Rule (16 CFR681.2), and does not extend to the rule regarding address
discrepancies applicable to users of consumer reports (16 CFR 681.1), or to the rule regarding changes of address applicable to card issuers (16 CFR 681.3).”
Therefore, dealerships must have written policies and procedures in place by November 1, 2008 on addressing address discrepancies. The fine for not
complying with this portion of the Red Flag Rule is $2,500.00 per violation.
Any company that handles a consumer’s credit application or data is required to be fully
compliant with that law by May 1, 2009.
As usual, Jan covered all the bases and then some

I wanted to give you some feedback on the closing tool we went over in both of our trainings.
I had this very analytical customer in my office late last night who is an engineer for Lockheed and he wasn’t giving in on the VSA one ounce. So I decided to dig
into my Jan Kelly tool kit and a used the (Parts + Labor divided by the cost of the VSA) tool you trained us on how to present. After I got him involved with the
calculations………(one word) SOLD! He looked at me and said, “I can’t argue with that presentation Jim”, and “I can’t afford not to have this coverage”.

Very good seminar. This is the first time I have been givin a tool to show customers how financing vs. cash is an easy choice. I think with a reprogram of my HP12c and some practice this will be very valuable. Thanks to Jan for all the special attention to helping me work out the bugs in my HP12c. I look foward to learning more in future seminars.
